October 19-23

Speech

We discussed monologs last Friday and you received your first assignment. Some are longer than others but all are interesting and will be a good challenge to get you going. We’ll work on them in class on Monday and then begin presenting them on Tuesday, at least the shorter ones. The most difficult part is memorizing the script but I feel you are up to the challenge. I hope to show you some more monologs on video on Monday so you get a better feeling for hand and facial involvement. We’ll begin a second monolog on Wednesday or Thursday, depending on when we finish our first round. You’re going to enjoy these once you get working on them.

English 11

You have two short writing assignments due on Monday, each of 100-300 words. We’ll be working on more period literature this week along with continuing to sharpen your grammatical skills. We’ll also be working toward a vocabulary test, probably on Friday. I hope to assign your next significant writing by the end of the week. Thank you for the cookies and lovely balloons on Friday. You did a nice job of handling the chairs and I appreciate that. Hope you have a good weekend. Go Blue!

Bible HS

Friday was not a very productive day, but beginning Monday we’ll be back at chapter 17, looking at the ecumenical church called “the Harlot.” We should be able to complete this chapter by Tuesday or Thursday and therefore, we’ll likely take a test on Friday. We will also have a new passage to begin memorizing. I’ll distribute it on Monday. We need to begin thinking about what we’d like to do for our elementary school chapel. During November we will take two chapel hours to work specifically on it, but we need to decide earlier what you’d like to prepare.
