October 12-16
Speech
We almost completed our individual pantomimes (speaking without sound) last Friday. Only a couple of student presentations remain in that category. On Monday we’ll finish those and then begin working on group pantomimes, which will take most of the week before we launch into monologues. You’ve done a nice job so far so keep up the good work.
English 11
The second writing assignment is due on Monday (eyewitness account). We’ll continue with our newest literature piece on Monday, focusing on early American writing and its parallels with Scripture. We’ll see how early America was directly linked to God’s Word and contrast that with today’s culture. We’ll continue, as well, with more analogies and context clue work. By Wednesday we’ll have begun the next writing assignment. I will attempt to be considerate of your volleyball schedule so as not to overburden you with homework on game nights.
Bible HS
We’ll complete chapter 16 on Monday and then review the entire chapter prior to a test on Tuesday or Thursday. A chapter 16 concept map will be due by Wednesday as well as a pictorial representation of chapter 16. I’ll provide time in class to do much of that work but some may need to be done out of class. Expect a research project some time this week, our first written project. On Friday we’ll have our Scripture memory test on Rev. 19:11-20. By Thursday we’ll have begun chapter 17, a move away from the chronological narrative we’ve seen thus far. It will examine the false religion that will dominate the Beast’s world.
